Leadership Development - The Basics Never Change
Ms. Gooden’s presentation titled “Leadership In An Era of Change” was most informative and inspiring to everyone who attended. Her examples of leading during times of change, and her insight on the benefits of effective communications and mentoring were extremely informative.
Ms. Gooden also shared her perspectives on the importance of leadership with examples from her distinguished career. She explained that leadership is intangible: a powerful energy that is contained within all of us. Leadership is a critical characteristic of every successful organization, and has been the driving force behind extraordinary human accomplishments.
She presented a leadership model featuring five tenets of leadership and applicable competencies for success:
- Create a Vision and Strategy
- Build Effective Relationships
- Encourage Teamwork
- Deliver Results
- Set an Example: Personal Excellence, Integrity, and Accountability
