Major General Phillip E. McGhee, Director, Army Budget Office, gave a presentation on “Aligning DoD Business Operations to the Warfighter.”
Major General McGhee discussed the challenges and capability gaps he has observed in the Joint Warfighting Business Mission Area during his extensive career. Specifically, as the Executive Agent for Financial Management in the CENTCOM Area of Operation, he highlighted the approach the Army in partnership with OSD and DFAS took to improve processes and ensure financial accountability for an annual $27 billion Overseas Contingency Operations budget. Additionally, he discussed future budget implications for the US Army and its impact on the Business Mission Area.
