The 2013 Congressional Report on Defense Business Operations is presented in three parts and outlines the continuing efforts by the Department to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Part one describes the Integrated Business Framework that is used to develop and manage the Department of Defense’s business strategy. In part two, several of the Department’s successes are highlighted, including improvements to both the business practice and supporting Information Technology investments. Lastly, part three looks ahead to the actions the Department will take in the next year to strengthen alignment of the Strategic Management Plan with the Investment Review Board process.
